First Thursday Program to Highlight Ongoing Haiti Struggles

In conjunction with the First Thursday Program, the School of Social Work Alumni Association will hold an event, “Observations of Haitian Social Workers: Prospects and Challenges in the Aftermath of the Earthquake,” on May 6 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the School’s Conant Lounge.
The program will focus on a discussion on the work that our graduates are doing with Haitian families in the Boston area, and the ongoing relationship between social work and current Haitian relief efforts. The event will take place in the form of a panel presentation where alumni, students, faculty and community members will have the opportunity to participate together in open dialogue on significant issues and priorities surrounding the Haiti earthquake.

The First Thursday program is a series of educational programs sponsored annually by the School’s Alumni Association. Attendees can receive 1.5 free social work continuing education credits (CECs).
