Advising

Each student has two advisors: a Faculty Advisor and a Degree Program Advisor.

Your Faculty Advisor is a professor dedicated to providing support and mentorship as you advance toward your vocational and academic goals. This advisor will typically remain the same for the duration of your program in order to provide you with a consistent conversation partner throughout your academic experience at Boston University. You will receive your advisor assignment at orientation, or in the days shortly thereafter, and are encouraged to connect with them often.

Your Degree Program Advisor (DPA) is an STH Administrator from the Student Services Team who will help you navigate degree requirements and course selection. You will be assigned to a DPA when you begin the registration process as a continuing student. You will then meet with your DPA during the registration period for each subsequent term. Although your DPA may change throughout the duration of your program, we are all here to support you!

If you have questions about which courses to take this upcoming term, our office will be happy to assist you! Just email us at sthregfa@bu.edu.
