As described on the 服务概述, 安全Mail is in use by Boston University faculty and administrators who need to ensure that specific messages they send go out with the highest level of encryption. This is important in complying with Boston University’s 资料保障标准, specifically when dealing with Restricted Use data. 安全Mail对传输中的电子邮件和存储在邮箱中的电子邮件进行加密，这是限制使用数据的要求。

To set up a 安全Mail account, you will need to click on the link supplied to you in a notifying message. (If you do not have a notifying message, please click the “Help” icon to request that one be generated for you.)

注意: The 安全Mail system has a 邮箱配额为500mb.

  • BU邮箱发送的邮件 are retained for 2年.

  • 从非bu地址发送的邮件 (like Gmail or Yahoo) are retained for 仅14天, after which they are 自动删除，不可恢复.

通过Microsoft Outlook客户端发送安全邮件

If you use Microsoft Outlook with Exchange, you can compose and edit a message from within Outlook and send it via 安全Mail using a single button click.  To get started, install the “安全Mail for Outlook”客户端 and a 发送 安全 button will be added to Outlook.  当您单击此按钮而不是常规的发送按钮时，您的电子邮件将使用安全Mail安全地发送，而无需登录DataMotion web门户。 额外的信息 在此和其他安全Mail功能可用。
