《今日美国》, 好莱坞记者 zero in on BU

《今日美国》 teamed up with 大学的事实, an online college matching program, to analyze universities nationwide and identify the best overall journalism programs. The 排名 were 基于 on factors such as graduates’ starting and mid-career salaries, whether or not the program is accredited, and how well a particular college did in overall nationwide 排名 (BU ranked 41st in US News & World Report2015年度排名).

The 《今日美国》 ranking comes on the heels of the announcement that COM’s film and television department was ranked 12th on the 好莱坞记者’s annual list of top film programs in the country, the same spot it secured in last year’s 排名.
According to the 好莱坞记者 文章 detailing the 排名, multiple factors were considered in compiling the list, including “prestige, practical experience, inspirational teachers, potential career connections, and access to cutting-edge equipment.”
While the 好莱坞记者 cited COM’s new 电影和媒体制作硕士课程 as one reason for the department’s success, they singled out the school’s 洛杉矶实习项目—part of BU Study Abroad—for special mention. The program, described by its director, 比尔Linsman, as “LA on training wheels,” gives students the opportunity to attend lectures by industry bigwigs such as Jason Alexander (Hon.’95) and helps them land internships at major entertainment companies like 20世纪福克斯 and the 温斯坦公司.
“I’m one of those who believes in film school,” 《x战警》 and 金刚狼 producer 劳伦·舒勒·唐纳 (COM’71) told the 好莱坞记者. “我在波士顿大学的经历让我受益匪浅。 它为我提供了人脉，让我开始了自己的事业。”
