Breaking Boundaries: A Speaker Series on Asian Representation

Boston University Asian Student Union (ASU) is back with their third annual speaker series on Asian and Asian American representation: Breaking Boundaries! This year, our speakers include: - The Fung Bros., Chinese-American YouTubers with over 2M subscribers, consisting of comedian and rapper David and Andrew Fung. - Lia Neal, a two-time Olympic medalist swimmer who is of African American and Chinese descent, and was the first African American woman to swim in an Olympic final” - Ritesh Rajan, an Indian-American actor known for his role as Linus Ahluwali in Stitchers and Mowgli’s father in The Jungle Book. - Opening speaker: State Representative Tram T Nguyen, the first Vietnamese-American woman in the Massachusetts Legislature, serving as the 18th Essex District in Massachusetts House of Representatives. Due to a lack of success stories and representation in media, Asians and Asian Americans often find it difficult to chase their dreams and seek out sources for inspiration. ASU hopes to provide a platform to showcase these influential stories and shed light on the impact that Asians and Asian Americans have made within their industries through Breaking Boundaries.
