Ralph Kershaw, 52, of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175. He was a marine surveyor, world traveler, and owner of the Ray Kershaw Company. In 1977, he became a member of the National Association of Marine Surveyors. He was vice president of the New England region from 1986 through 1992. His advice, knowledge, and expertise in boating were highly sought. Kershaw grew up in Manchester-by-the-Sea and graduated from Manchester High School, where he was a standout basketball player.
